Inspection

Non Destructive Testing machine during NDT survey

Non Destructive Testing

InDepth Diving provides advanced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) services for underwater structures across a wide range of marine, civil, and industrial environments. Our inspection team includes certified CSWIP 3.1 and 3.2 Underwater Inspectors, ensuring that all work is carried out to internationally recognised standards with the highest level of technical accuracy and professional integrity.

We conduct comprehensive underwater inspections and testing to assess the condition, safety, and compliance of submerged assets such as bridge piers, pipelines, piles, moorings, tanks, offshore platforms, and ship hulls. Our team is experienced in both routine maintenance inspections and critical assessments following structural incidents or extreme weather events.

Our NDT and Inspection Capabilities Include:

  • Visual and photographic inspections with HD video and real-time surface relay
  • Ultrasonic Thickness Testing (UTT) to assess material loss and corrosion
  • Magnetic Particle Testing (MPT) for surface and near-surface crack detection
  • Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT) for identifying surface-breaking flaws
  • Cathodic protection testing, including potential readings and anode performance
  • Coating condition assessments and adherence checks

Each inspection is supported by detailed technical reports, including photographic evidence, data analysis, and actionable recommendations. Reports are formatted to suit client requirements and can be integrated into broader asset management or compliance systems.

At InDepth Diving, our CSWIP-qualified divers are backed by surface support teams and project managers who ensure all inspections are conducted safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with AS/NZS 2299 and other relevant international standards. Whether as part of a planned maintenance program or a time-sensitive investigation, our underwater NDT services help clients make informed decisions, reduce risk, and extend the lifespan of critical infrastructure.

Inspection

InDepth Diving provides advanced inspection and condition assessment services both above and below the waterline, delivering accurate, data-driven insights that support asset management, maintenance planning, and regulatory compliance. Our services include conventional visual inspections, high-resolution 3D scanning, and a range of non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques, all conducted by qualified professionals in accordance with industry best practices and standards, Eddy current and MPI.

Visual Inspections

We offer detailed visual inspections carried out by certified divers and technicians using high-definition video and photography equipment. These inspections provide clients with a clear understanding of the condition of underwater and above-water structures, including signs of wear, corrosion, impact damage, or marine growth. Real-time surface monitoring and recorded footage allow for client oversight and post-inspection analysis.

3D Scanning

For projects requiring a higher level of precision, InDepth Diving employs 3D scanning technology, to create accurate digital models of underwater structures and terrain. This method is ideal for:

  • Baseline condition assessments
  • Deformation tracking
  • Volume calculations (e.g., sediment or scour)
  • Engineering design support and clash detection

Our 3D scans allow clients and engineers to interact with and analyse underwater environments virtually, improving planning, reducing risk, and enhancing documentation accuracy.

Maritime Operations

Range of vessels to accommodate the task at hand from barges to offshore vessels for operations and salvage.

InDepth Diving operates a versatile and well-maintained fleet of vessels to support a wide range of inshore, offshore, and complex marine operations. Our ability to scale and adapt vessel deployment to suit each project ensures maximum efficiency, safety, and operational effectiveness—regardless of the working environment or logistical challenge.

Each vessel is selected based on the unique demands of the task at hand, allowing us to operate effectively in restricted-access harbours, open ocean environments, inland waterways, and remote coastal locations.

Key vessel capabilities include:

  • Stable platforms for construction diving, welding, cutting, and lifting operations
  • Integrated crane systems and lifting gear for salvage and recovery tasks
  • Dynamic positioning (DP) or mooring systems for precision station-keeping in offshore environments
  • Accommodation for diving spreads, and on-board project management facilities
  • Capacity to support inspection tooling, and environmental monitoring systems

This flexible fleet enables InDepth Diving to execute a broad spectrum of marine projects—from controlled inshore maintenance and inspections to complex offshore infrastructure support and emergency salvage operations. All vessels are crewed by experienced marine personnel and maintained in compliance with relevant maritime safety regulations and classification requirements.

Our marine support capabilities are designed to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient execution under all conditions.
